So now that we’ve completed our section on turning strangers into visitors we’re now moving on to our next section to turning visitors into Leads, now this process that we’re going to be talking about is called the generation where you’re attracting your visitors and turning them into leads and the lead is basically anybody who has shown interest in your product or your company by giving you their information, now as online marketers or in online marketing the most important piece of information that we want from our visitors is their email address and this is what we call permission marketing and it is basically the fact that visitor has given us their permission for us to follow up with them with additional marketing messages or additional information to help them aid their purchase decision down the road, now how do you get leads?
Well you get leads through this process of creating lead offers or lead magnets as you might find being mentioned online, and so when you have lead magnets or lead offers that provide a lot of value for your prospective customer or for the visitor that they want to give you their email address, and so in this section will be covering three main things that you need in order to create a media magnet in order for you to actually generate leads or build your email list:
- First thing you’re going to need is the lead offer.
- Second thing you’re going to need is the call to action.
- Last thing you need is landing pages.
Leads Generation
What is your lead magnet or your lead offer? Now what kind of things should we be offering or giving away in order for their information? But before I get to that I wanted to mention that with the Internet and with the online world the cost of actually giving something away has almost gone down to zero dollars, you can instantly create anything online and give it away for free without actually investing a lot of money, now what do I mean by that?
Well traditionally speaking if you wanted to give something away for free physically there were things like warehouse cost, shipping costs, the cost of actually creating the thing that you want to give away, but now with the online world that has gone down to zero, now what’s the biggest thing you can give away or what’s the biggest thing you can leverage online in order to get lead, it’s by creating content that is going to bring them one step closer to solving their problems by creating educational content that is going to help them get closer to solving the problem that they’re experiencing in their life.
So what are some examples of lead magnets then that you want to create and that you want to give away, can be anythings like webinars, video, courses or a video series or some audio series audio podcasts, you name it, and your goal as an online marketer, as a business owner is that you want to give at least a hundred dollar worth of content away to your prospective customer to your visitor because you want to add massive value to them and you actually want to bring them one step closer to solving their problem, and so by creating and by giving away free content what you’re actually doing is increasing the amount of visitors coming to your website and also increasing your ability to generate more leads get more email subscribers which you can then have permission to market to them in the future when you’re ready to sell your product or service or any other products that you might launch in the future.
Call To Action
So now that you have your lead magnet it’s time to use your lead magnet to get those email addresses, now how do you get those e-mail addresses, well you’re going to need something what we called form, I’m sure you’ve seen them, it’s where you add your name and email address when you’re subscribing to a newsletter on any Web site or you’re subscribing to get a free offer as you’ve probably seen on certain Web sites, so you’re going to need a form and you’re also going to need a call to action button, so if you have a form but you don’t have a button that says Submit or get free access now then that e-mail is not going to get into your database, now where do you put this form anyways. Well there are only two places that we recommend, the first one is just below your blog posts and this is a great way or a great place to put your call to action and the other place is on the sidebar of your blog whether it be on the right side or left side, that’s also another additional place where you can put to kind of get started and which I’m sure you’ve already seen, but these are the common places where you’ll find online marketers businesses putting their magnets and lead offers.
Now keep in mind you can have multiple lead magnets on your page but the key idea is that you’re the magnet should follow the website and what they’re actually looking for, so that’s why at the bottom of the post is probably the most ideal place for you to put your lead magnet.
Landing Pages

One of the places that you can capture leads and put your form and call for action is a landing page, now what is a landing page, it is a page which is dedicated to capturing visitors and converting them into leads, witch include information a customer needs in order for them to give their information in exchange for your lead magnet or lead offer, but there are really a few components on the landing page.
- The first thing you need in a landing page is the headline which promises the benefit or the solution that you’re going to give.
- The second one is probably a sub headline: anything that will kind of give a person an indication of what they’re going to get.
So it’s probably one of the best ways and I highly recommend that you employ it. There’s a bunch of tools you can use out there to create learning pages of your website.
